System failure

by matt - August 1st, 2008

First of all, our apologies to the community.  Ish.

Secondly, we had an atrociously bad day here at the Kluster nerve center and all sites were down for about 15 hours.  We believe we have restored full functionality at this point and we’ll be monitoring the site closely to ensure it stays in that condition (huge ups to Mr. Mike Lacy! Y’all send ‘im props, ya here).

Thirdly, in light of the site being down, we’ve given each namethis project an additional 72 hours to collect great names.  Everyone get in there and make sure to do an extra special excellent naming job for us, k?

Thanks so much for your patience and sticking with us.  We hope you guys had a better day then us today, and you have a great weekend.

Thanks for the quick fix and extra time - at least all of the names weren’t wiped too…

Any update on the two or three contests whose deadline has passed?

i’am from Brazil. You (Kluster) don’t speak portuguese?

Is anyone having a problem viewing their $ total in kluster? I usually can, but I haven’t been able to do so over the last couple of days. Which kinda sucks, since I think I just crossed the $50 mark…

One question as it catched my eye yesterday:
Is the namethis submitting system meant to be used with HTML-Tags? At the moment you can insert all different kinds of tags in the fields and they are processed (like em, strong, even h1 and stuff …).
I did not try it but I think this could also be used for malicious Code Injection.

@ Wilson, I’m not having trouble viewing how much money is left on my account but I am seeing that my next card load is in 0 days, and I know my next card load is either today or tomorrow. Shouldn’t I be seeing something to load my card again? If you guys could look into this I’d greatly appreciate it.

I too, have 0 days now on my card load and…nothing. Help would be much appriciated

  • Tiffany on August 9th, 2008:

Seems to be fixed now, must be a day off (or something like that). :D

  • Drew McConnell on August 10th, 2008:

Why on earth is there still a 200 limit? The original announcement said that the 30 day period would only be for the first round. I don’t want to wait six months to get all of my money. Ridiculous.

  • Tiffany on August 10th, 2008:

I think it’s because a few people were having trouble with loading their cards, not to mention yesterday the timer for when the next load was seemed to be off by a day. I think its wise to get all the bugs fixed before we can go and get our money with no restrictions.

It might make sense for Kluster to cut checks to those people who have over $200 in their accounts, especially considering we were told there aren’t that many of us. I can understand working out the kinks and wanting to use Payoneer, but it’s also not fair to make people wait for months when there is a fairly easy solution. I’m guessing Kluster uses checks for other payables.

  • Drew McConnell on August 10th, 2008:

    @Tiffany
I wouldn’t consider it wise, and if it were than it should be a personal decision and not one made for us. That being said an update was not given to that effect and the original statement made it clear they would only need the trial period for a couple of weeks. There are SIX pictures at the top of the screen. Twentyman already coordinated the payment system and we stood bye with understanding, there should be no excuse as to why I cannot get all of my money at this point. I would be sympathetic to a 7 day period if staggered dips into the pot are necessary. A month is something different however.

I fear that these enterprising leaders are only interested on NEW NEW NEW and not on what has already been promised.

They may break barriers, but so far they have left a trail of rubble.

Any new projects on the horizon? I really enjoyed the original Kluster and Knewroom (sort of) but I’m a little saddened to say that the site has become stale for me. I don’t find Namethis pleasurable at all, more like a crapshoot, and I haven’t invested a watt in about a month. I find myself checking back rarely now.
