payment limits
by ben - August 16th, 2008
Hello everyone.
Sorry for the delay in making this post… I’ve spent the last few days reading and digesting all of your comments, and thinking strongly about your request for lifting the monthly payment limits.
Unfortunately, though, after looking at the data… it is not something we are ready to do. Although the first card loads last month worked seamlessly for many, we had failures/errors on about 36% on last months load requests, which kept Twentyman busy debugging our communications with payoneer, etc. I am not ready to take this out of test mode until we are seeing this working much more smoothly.
For what it’s worth, I want nothing more then to lift this payment limit.. It is extremely valuable to us as an organization to have core evangelists, and ironically, those are the few that are being hurt by the payment limit… which pains me.
While we are happy with our progress so far, we TRULY appreciate you hanging in there with us as we really perfect the complex logistics associated with paying thousands of people and interfacing between 4 parties (banks, card processors, kluster front end, and our accounting platform) .
In the words of our great president… “it’s hard work, we’re workinn’ hard”
You guys rock, hang in there. we’re on it.

FYI: 3 projects have been completed, but their results have yet to be posted. Thanks.
Thanks for the update Ben, really appreciate it ^_^
@troy fixed … and hopefully this will be the end of a long process of upgrading the kluster backend which should bring increased stability.
Yo — what’s up with all the italics?
That was a fast fix. Thanks.
Oops, it’s back. Are you playing mind games with me?
So is it strictly a dollar-limit, or are we allowed only one card load per 30 (or whatever number) days in this working-out-the-bugs phase? . . . both?
@Stacy: It seems like we are allowed to use HTML-Tags in the suggestions. That means you can format text and do other (silly) stuff with it. If someone forgets to close a tag the whole following text will be affected. That is actually the case in the running project.
@Martin - Thanks for the explanation. Happy Monday (well, if you’re in Germany you’re much further into it that I am, but happy Monday anyway).

I thought I had loaded my card with $200 a few weeks ago and recently tried to use the card (and was unsuccessful). I went to Payoneer and it seems I do not have any money loaded on the card. Can you tell me how this problem was resolved with other cards and who I need to contact?
Thanks
@Lisa — You may know this already (and apologies if you do), but it’s a multi-step process. After you get the card, you have to go to your kluster account page and actually load the card: Type in the amount you want to load ($200). If it works, you’ll see a $200 deduction in your debit column, and your available total will decrease. You’ll also see a tag on the upper right that says, “Next load in 30 days.” THEN you have to go to your Payoneer account and make sure the money is there. Then (I think) you’re good to go. Good luck.
Guys, I received a deduction of $3 as part of a maintenance fee from payoneer, I was able to get it back since kluster is subsidizing our monthly/yearly fees. I just want to warn you guys, that you maybe paying a monthly fee that isn’t supposed to be paid.
eagerly waiting for the limit to be released. i will definitely evangelize and get back into using the site, once the card loading is all good. thanks for the update.
appreciate the update
I would like to know what are the different ways in which you pay the project contributors. I also request you to add PayPal as a payment option. I want to know your opinion on this. Because PayPal is the easiest way to pay off-shore members.
unable to load my card…
i have not received my card yet!!!
I received my card but can not load it somehow.
Instead of a loading button I see “payments start at 50$”.
Already wrote two mails but no answer from Kluster yet.
@martin,
have you activated your card already?
I’m also having trouble getting the latest card load to work on my account management page. The last few times I’ve tried, it says “card could not be loaded, please contact payments@kluster.com” . . . and I’ve still not received a reply to the email I wrote on August 19th reporting the problem. The card has been activated and successfully loaded one time since I’ve received it.
@Matthew: Yes, the card is activated in my Payoneer Account. I can not see where to activate it here on kluster to make the loading button appear.
How did the last round of payoneer loads go? Also - any thoughts on writing checks to those of us who are above the $200 mark? It’s hard to in good faith promote the site to others when we’re worried about ever being paid the full amount due.
got my 2nd load…
im unable to load my card. i sent an e-mail where it told me to for assistance a couple weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything….
Isn’t working for me, either…thanks for looking into it.
card could not be loaded.
I emailed.
