card load errors

by ben - September 10th, 2008

While some of the card load errors a few weeks ago were technical problems… The current issue is a lack of funds in Payoneer’s account.

Don’t be scared, kluster is doing just fine…. Unfortunately, though, our link with Payoneer became broken recently when we moved our bank account from Vermont (where kluster used to be headquartered), to New York (where kluster is now currently doing business).   We thought that we would still be able to wire money from our Vermont account to Payoneer via our online banking, but unfortunately our bank in vermont (TD Banknorth) will not accept neither that, nor my phone authorization to wire money… Which ticked me off beyond belief… So much so that I believe I lectured them about the existence of the internet and their need to embrace it yada, yada yada.

So, I scrambled this morning with our new recruit, Stef (welcome her in the comments)  and went to open a bank account here in NY… Since I cannot wire money from Vermont… We have to wait for the money from vermont to find it’s way down to New York the old fashioned way (a check). Once that happens we can fund our Payoneer account and you guys will all be able to make your withdrawals.

You asked, now you know.  We will be back up and running with this in 48 hours or so.  This is totally sucky, i apologize.

I’ll post again with an update as it comes in.

Thanks for the update. Will the limits be lifted?

  • ben on September 10th, 2008:

    Kristen,

    No, not yet.

As soon as the limits are lifted, you’ll be the first to know.

  • Kristen on September 10th, 2008:

Thanks Ben - any idea of the timeframe?

  • ben on September 10th, 2008:

as soon as i can humanly make it happen. Probably a few more weeks, though.

  • Stacy Prince on September 10th, 2008:

So, to make sure I understand this:
    1) The communication between namethis and payoneer is fully online. (If so, yeah!)
    2) We’re waiting for a mother of a check to hit the NYC bank and clear, meaning those of us who’ve been waiting 37 days and more can get the next $200. This should happen by…midweek next week?
    3) All limits will be lifted in the next few weeks?
Fingers crossed for this as much as the unicorns. (And I’m sorry you’ve left my favorite state. Not that NYC is so bad. You gonna invite Connecticans down for lunch some day?)
    Thanks for the update.

    1. to the best of our knowledge, yes.
    2. yep, but i just got word that the bank is expediting this out of niceness, so we may be good by tomorrow morning.
    3. Yes, sure hope so.. feeling pretty good about it.

As for lunch, You can find the kluster team any day at 12:30 in the lobby of 419 park south (@29th).

    :)

not to be a total killjoy … but in light of yet another hiccup (totally non-tech related), stacy’s #1 is contingent on a successful code connection, which we haven’t totally seen yet. we’re confident. we’re hopeful. we’re expectant.

money hits, clear, and then the codes run. limits will be lifted when we see a successful code run (which, once again, we expect). this bank business hasn’t made it any easier to ensure all the automatic process, happens … well … automatically. as you can imagine.

    thanks for your patience!

Thanks for the updates… I can imagine ben lecturing them about the power of the internet xD

  • matt on September 10th, 2008:

I think Ben’s exact comment was, “I’d like you to send information about the existence of the internet up the chain, over there. You know, it’s good for doing stuff like banking.”
