  • Sunil on September 19th, 2008:

    Hope the new version of NameThis will offer PayPal feature!

  • ben on September 19th, 2008:

    um, no it wont offer a paypal feature.

  • Sunil on September 19th, 2008:

    Oh no! Then how am I gonna withdraw my earnings? I’m not a Mastercard holder! This is a rip-off! :(

  • Stacy Prince on September 19th, 2008:

    @ Sunil — You don’t need to be a Mastercard holder. You DO have to apply for a debit card (which is kind of a bummer because you must release certain personal information to Payoneer), but there’s no cost to you and you don’t have to apply for credit or anything. You set up your debit card with Payoneer, via the link here when you make your first download. They send you a card. (It takes awhile….) Then, assuming all the glitches are ironed out (which they seem to be), you download your money to Payoneer with a click here. Then you go to Payoneer and tell them with another click whether you’re willing to wait three days for your money or you want to pay $3 to have instant access. And, voila, you have a debit card to spend like cash. Truly, once you have your card in your hand, it’s virtually painless!

  • Sunil on September 19th, 2008:

    @Stacy- Thanks so much for helpful info! I’m exploring Payoneer website right now..Oh yeah I thought I had to be a Mastercard holder to use Payoneer! :P
    @Ben- Sorry for yelling ‘This is a rip-off’, Ben. You see, I was really frustrated at the time. My sincere apologies!

  • Stacy Prince on September 19th, 2008:

    @ Sunil — Yeah, it would be helpful to have this explained on the site somewhere (hint, hint).

  • Jesse Hattabaugh on September 19th, 2008:

    *chomps at bit*

  • Jesse Hattabaugh on September 19th, 2008:

  • Jesse Hattabaugh on September 19th, 2008:

    how’s it coming? I really need a name, people are stealing my idea even as we speak!

  • Russell Smith on September 20th, 2008:

    Getting sick of that keyword spammer…ha.

  • Jesse Hattabaugh on September 20th, 2008:

    I take it you’ve killed each other. Great! who’s gonna run the site now!?

  • Sharon on September 21st, 2008:

    Payoneer is a pain in my ass. They declined my request because I’m not 18 yet and now they won’t even let me use my parent’s info. Why didn’t anyone tell me this, so I wouldn’t have wasted my time on this site? BULLLSHIT!

  • Georgi on September 22nd, 2008:

    @Sharon
    - pain in your ***, waste your time, bull****? control your speach!!!
    where the hell you come from? don’t you know that in ALL(almost) countries in the world, if your not 18, you are nobody!!! can’t vote, cant buy alcohol, cant drive car….
    the best advise for you is to continue wasting your time and earn money till your 18. then get your CC and with the earnd money, buy you some shiny things! and other is to stop writing stupid stuff like this and start thinkin’ like an adult!

  • Matthew Cua on September 22nd, 2008:

    @sharon

    pretty much your entry sums up why not.

    plus you’ll grow up, eventually

    @kluster team

    did you guys really kill each other O_O

  • Stacy Prince on September 22nd, 2008:

    @ Sharon — I do think it’s a real bummer you can’t get paid. I understand your frustration and, as I know many adults who use the same kind of language you have in an in appropriate setting, I don’t lay that on our youth.

    One problem, however, I do think may be a function of your age: Not reading the fine print in the terms of use agreement you had to “sign” before you became a Klusterer. (I’ve watched my own kids blithely downloading everything under the sun without reading the terms; I realize many people think of that “click” as a meaningless formality you go through to get onto a coveted site.) I don’t have time to read the fine print again, but I’m pretty sure they were clear on age regulations. You can blame the legalistic society we live in for having to page through a ton of legal gobbledegook. Not letting kids under 18 get involved in financial matters is likely a government regulation meant originally to prevent the exploitation of children (who might take on bad debt or work for low pay), but it may have since warped into something that protects the industry. Anyway, most debit cards that work jointly with kids and their parents are set up differently, and usually with a different fee base (i.e., a total rip-off). We looked into them for my son at one point and gave up.

    I’m hoping the Kluster Team will make an exception in your case, in terms of how they pay you. You might write them privately and inquire. Although I’d guess you were, technically, in violation of Kluster rules, so perhaps you want to ask nicely?

    No matter what happens, Kluster’s not at fault if they made it clear in the rules that you had to be 18. Yes, it would have been nice if they’d set up a clearer warning box. But it was your responsibility to read through the rules no matter how they were set up.

    Good luck. I think Georgi’s idea is good. If you’re close to 18, you’re close to cash. If you’re not, think of it as a cheap lesson into a fact of life that hit many adults in the face, too: Don’t sign anything you don’t understand.

  • Jesse Hattabaugh on September 22nd, 2008:

    Can we get an update?

  • Georgi on September 23rd, 2008:

    @kluster team
    -really, where you gone guys? what is happening? no new projects, no new namethis, no comments here,… :((((((

  • Colin on September 23rd, 2008:

    Just a little curious what’s going on as well… I need a name quickly! Any news on the new NameThis???

  • WTF on September 23rd, 2008:

  • matt on September 23rd, 2008:

    we aren’t dead and namethis isn’t going away. real soon now … really … really. really.

  • Matthew Cua on September 23rd, 2008:

    Yay at least we know matt is not dead.

    I am itching to see the new namethis

  • Alessio De Marco on September 24th, 2008:

    Does Payoneer expire?
    Why I haven’t added the 1000 watts for each friend who signs up? I’m under of 2000 Watts…
    Maybe for the new site update?
    I’m very curious to see the new Namethis…but when? :-(((

  • Matthias on September 24th, 2008:

    I discovered namethis just this noon and I immediately was very very eager to give it a try! ;-) Great idea and great execution, so I really hope the “revamp” is finished quickly…

  • Matthew Cua on September 24th, 2008:

    @Alessio De Marco

    I am sure they don’t expire, but you can check it out at payoneer’s site in the FAQS section if not contact them, they respond pretty quickly.

  • Elizabeth Brauer on September 24th, 2008:

    i’m having withdrawal symptoms. I NEED MY NAME THIS! otherwise i might have to…write a novel…or a screenplay…or something. arrrrrrrrgh. “Come back, Shane, come back!”

  • Alessio De Marco on September 24th, 2008:

    I’ve approximately 10000 ready names in my mind…
    I had finished the paper where i write all my creations and… i’m starting to write on the wall…
    I’m feeling primordial… ;-)
    When do you re-open my dear NAMETHIS?

  • Matthias on September 25th, 2008:
