That will be some great exposure; congrats. Please let those of us who have only rabbit-ear reception on the
idiotboxtv know when a youtube/vimeo/hulu/etc. clip hits the web.Another issue I see with Namethis is scalability.
When 1000 more people come and decide to sign up and actively vote… (thanks to the TV spot)
The voting will probably become far more fair as rigging and grouping will be harder.
But… No one will actually ever earn any money. As 1000 people voting for
the first place (or a majority voting for 1st place) will split the earnings into the <1c area.
So, no one will ever make it to the magic $50. Now I am sure this is a boon to NameThis owners,
as no one will be cashing out there earnings. But it is a shame to have a non-scalable, sweatshop
design.
A new design is needed. Something scalable, fair and with mathematical design to select the best names.
I to am seeing a strong favoring in certain names and I’m confident that my names where not even reviewed or seen. I have been trying different approaches to get results but nothing. Good news though I’m almost at $2. Also the 24-24 idea would level the playing field a lot. When I first signed up I was under the impression the client picked the final name not the “voters” I actually gave up the hope of getting any cash for this gig but it would be really awsome if there were some sort of grade ranking for names that the client liked but passed on.And a log of all names each user has submitted for there personal use. The logs could even be used to potential employers to show creativity and what style you incorporate in your naming process. I’ll never win by my own social networking You could count all my friends on one hand and still use that hand to smoke a cig with. Also why not a deny button to weed some of the ficticious-ness. But a way to offer a reference for those of us that still have the faith in finding a decent job. Thank You for the expierience and I’ll stick with it Intrested in seeing how this all goes
What about a story writing competition incorporating all the names chosen so far in their new sense?
